FRAMEWORK ROBOTICS GmbH (FWR) was founded in Rostock at the end of 2020 and is based at the Ocean Technologie Campus, in Rostock's fishing port. With ten employees, the team of FWR has a great know-how in the field of underwater robotics and is specialized in additive manufacturing for applications in the deep sea. The team can draw on several years of experience in this field and has a modern 3D printing industrial facility for low-cost production of resilient plastic parts in small series. In addition, FWR is developing a modular platform for the individual assembly of remote-controlled diving robots. One focus of this work is the development of a scalable infrastructure for energy and data management, for applications from 0 - 6000 meters water depth. In addition to the hardware developments, the software developers at FWR are intensively involved in the development of open automation software, based on the open source middleware ROS II (Robot Operating System, Mark II).
